Tragedy struck and was compounded over the weekend at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) when a 300-level student of the Department of Chemistry, Gendedio Ejyrognene was gruesomely murder by suspected cultists on campus. Gbenedio Ejyroghene An eye witness who pleaded anonymity disclose  that the deceased was gunned down at about 7pm Friday night by suspected cultists. It was extremely unpleasant, shocking, horrible, horrific dreadful, repugnant and ferocious art. We learnt that Ejyrognene was taking part in a jeans carnival organised for final-year students of the Faculty of Physical Sciences at the 1000-Lecture Theatre field of the faculty when he was shot in the head by the assailants around 7pm. A source in the institution, told our correspondent that the late chemistry student was on probation until his death and was often spotted in the final-year class of the department. Just again and again, the Centre For Distance Learning arm of the Obafemi Awolowo University who is in charge of the Predegree Programme has announced the extension of the duration for the 2014/2015 Predegree application. The application will now close on 16th October, 2014.
